Venus in the sky tonight
Shining with your light so bright

How often is it that you hear
Every time that you are near

'I wish I may, I wish I might
Wish upon a star tonight?'

Think you back and then you say,
'Every night, not in the day.'

'You wish you might, you wish you may
You can not wish on me today'

'I'm not a star, tho' shine I might
You can not wish on me tonight'
